Product Development Package
Let me help you create a tech pack and get to a production ready proto.
Feeling overwhelmed getting your designs to production ready samples as your business grows?
Does working with your factory to review protos feel tedious and technical?
Not sure what to tell your factory to get your design the way you want it?
Let me help.
Would it be helpful to have a detailed tech pack with all the information your factory needed to make your design correctly, no matter where it’s produced?
What if you had someone with experience to help you review protos, someone who could give specific instruction to your factory on how to perfect the fit and look of your design?
How much time would you save if you had someone who could handle your factory’s questions for you?
What could you do for your business with that extra time?

Testimonials:
"Amy has been great to work with! As Bad Birdie started to scale, it got harder to track all our new products. Working with Amy helped us add structure to our process. She also got us up to speed on tech packs; before we started working together proto review calls with the factory would take hours. I would 100% recommend her."
— Jason Richardson, CEO, Bad Birdie
"I was initially hesitant about the cost sustainability of your services, but they were worth every penny and I would recommend working with you!
We have worked with other freelancers but their tech packs were missing many components to proceed, such as precise sizing and BOM details.
You have been professional, with exceptional quality of work, and precise follow through. My favorite part of working together has been your attention to detail, knowledge of industry, and experience in the industry. "
— Hannah Han, Cofounder, Johan Golf Apparel
“The work Amy’s done for us with our tech packs, proto review, and factory communication has been very helpful. Our factory has no questions and she’s saved us tons of time."
— Sam Outerbridge, Cofounder, Coral Coast Clothing
“I would absolutely recommend working with you. The quality of the work to date and your attention to detail has been very impressive. There is a very small margin for error with the timeline we are working under and I'm comfortable in hitting our deadlines because of the detailed process we are going through.“
— William Morris, Founder, Loop Active
“Amy jumped in to help us with our Spring 2021 tech packs when we were in a crunch. Everything she did for us was executed really really well and very timely.”
— Randy Kleiner, Director of Product, TOPO Designs

Common questions:
I’m concerned about working with a remote freelancer.
There are countless tools to keep your remote team working as one these days. Video calls can easily bridge the distance. Bring your coffee. It’ll be just like we’re in the room together.
In my experience factories will happily to send two sets of protos, swatch cards, etc., so my clients and I each have a set and can look at the same thing at the same time.
An advantage of working with a remote freelancer? Being open to a remote freelancer expands the talent pool you have access to, especially if you don’t live in a fashion hub.
What do I need to start?
You’ll need a finalized design, including trims and any prints and patterns, size range, and reference sample of how you’d like your garment to fit.
I don’t know anything about sizing. Is this something you can help with?
Yes. All you need is a sample that you like the fit of and I take it from there. Your fit is based on your sample with any changes you’d like to make, and then I grade it up into the larger sizes, and down into the smaller sizes for you.
Does this package include trim development?
Yes, if you’d like help with trim development that can be included in this package. We can discuss to see what the best route is for you.
Does this package include design?
The Product Development Package does not include design. Please see the Golf Print Design or Menswear Design Package for more information on design.
The last freelancer I hired dropped the ball. How do I know you’re different?
Check out my Testimonials to hear what it’s like to work with me. I’m a habitual overachiever. You won’t be disappointed.
It takes too much time to onboard a freelancer.
You’re busy and don’t have time to do a lot of hand-holding. I’m conscious of my client’s time. I don’t like unnecessary meetings and emails and I’m sure you don’t either. Working with me saves my client’s time because their designs are tracked and organized as they move toward production. They’re not digging through email to see what happened last and they have help managing the technical stuff. They can focus on the bigger picture of growing their business, and maybe take a long weekend now and then.
Why should I hire you instead of doing this myself?
If you’d like someone to help guide you through the process of getting your idea into production, maybe you don’t know anything about this industry, or maybe you just want to do it right the first time, we should chat. My clients have someone with apparel experience helping them every step of the way, someone they can ask questions, and who can help “translate” their factories emails into words they understand. I’ll get you into production and help teach you as we go.
I want to handle my factory communication myself.
This is totally up to you. Some clients clients like to loop me in on their factory communication and say it saves them time and feels like an insurance policy to have someone with an apparel background handling it for them. Other clients want to handle this on their end and just loop me in if they have questions. You are involved in all emails and I never give direction without your ok.
What’s your refund policy?
Because this is an ongoing process through tech packs, emails, and other digital goods, all sales are final. I stand behind my work and your happiness is important to me. If you are unhappy for any reason please contact me and I’ll do my best to make it right.
Why work with me?
You’ll have access to me and my over ten years of industry experience.
With my help, you won’t get “stuck” in the development process. I will get you into production.
Your designs are tracked as they move to a production ready sample. No more digging through emails to see what happened last.
My clients spend less time and money communicating with their factories about proto comments.
My clients say I’m professional and reliable. Check out the Testimonials page to see for yourself.
